“What you believe about a person will influence what they can achieve and who they can become.”
At Young Allied Health, we truly believe that beliefs and attitude shape performance and potential. This is why we always expect and believe the best for each of our staff and clients.
Young Allied Health is a family owned local business in Townsville. What we love about being a small business is that no member of the team is just a number, but we’re a family. We are committed to the professional and personal development of each of our team members and take pride in supporting the clinicians in achieving clinical excellence. We do this by offering regular team meetings, access to in house and external professional development, and our commitment to continuous reflection, learning, and quality improvement in all processes.
Through living out our values as a business, we enjoy a strong team culture where the team truly feels like a family. Each member of the team knows they are valued and we love getting together for our staff meetings, laughing over lunch, or letting our hair down at social events.
Young Allied Health is continuing to expand following the recent relocation to our beautiful new offices in Kirwan, Townsville. Our team currently has nine clinical staff of speech pathologists and occupational therapists and additional several admin staff, including our practice manager. Thanks to the incredible work of our amazing team, we have a high demand for our services and are always on the lookout for other like-minded occupational therapists, speech pathologists, or administrative professionals to join our team.
We know our team value our flexible working conditions to allow them to maintain a healthy balance with their family life as well, such as taking maternity leave or adjusting hours as required.
We are always interested in hearing from people that are interested in joinging our team. If we have a specific position available, you will be able to find the details below or via advertisement. However, if there is no advertised position, we would still love to hear from you as we value the opportunity to speak with all professionals that are interested in learning more about our practice. If you would like to get in touch, please send your cover letter and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org or give us a call for a chat.
New Graduate Clinician Program
We love having new graduate clinicians at Young Allied Health! The enthusiasm and fresh perspective is always an exciting addition to the team and we enjoy watching the confidence grow of our new clinicians. To help make the transition to working life as a clinician smoother and provide the appropriate supports, we have a few additional processes in place. For new graduate clinicians, expectations for how many clients you see in a day will be reduced in comparison to more experienced clinicians. The expectation is that you will start with a smaller caseload during the first part of the year and slowly build your caseload and expectations per term.
As part of these supports, you will be provided with:
- Opportunity to observe sessions of other clinicians (both speech and OT)
- Weekly supervision (by a senior clinician of your same discipline)
- Structured induction program to orient you to all Young Allied Health policies and procedures
- Fortnightly staff meetings
- Monthly clinical case focused meetings
- Access to Team Talk (monthly online clinical PD program through Nacre Consulting)
Applications for our new graduates for 2021 are now open.
